Big Oil Love Fest: Sam Graves refuses to denounce BP apologist
Graves avoids calls to rebuke Barton's apology while taking constributions from Big Oil
Kansas City Star
June 22, 2010

Kansas City - Congressman Sam Graves had the perfect opportunity to condem Rep. Barton's apology to BP after the company was held responsible for the tragic oil spill, however once again, Graves refused to speak out against the statement.
The KC Star asked Graves for his comments and Graves "sidestepped the question," according to the paper. Last week, Barton apologized to BP after the company was required to pay $20 billion to help the cleanup effort instead of making taxpayers foot the bill.
"What is Graves afraid of?" Clint Hylton, candidate against Sam Graves asked. "This is simple: BP created a major problem and the company should pay for it, not taxpayer dollars!" Read article

Can you afford lunch with Sam Graves?
Graves hosts D.C. insiders and Special Interest groups for $1,000 a plate
Kansas City Star
June 15, 2010

Washington, D.C. -- While thousands of Northwest Missourians are losing their jobs to foreign companies, struggling with high gas prices, and seeing small farms forced out of business, decade-long Congressman Sam Graves is spending time in Washington, D.C. hosting a lunch, which costs $1,000 to attend.
On a Washington D.C.-based party website, Congressman Graves is promoting two separate lunches costing attendees $500 or $1,000, while also inviting his special interest groups for $1,000 or $2,000. The lobbyists throwing the event represent big pharmaceutical and big insurance companies.
Clint Hylton, candidate for Congress against Sam Graves, is tired of the "pay to play" politics of Washington, D.C. "While trying to run a small business, manage my farm, and raise a son who is fighting cancer, I cannot afford $1,000 to have lunch with our Congressman and most residents of Northwest Missouri cannot either," Hylton said. "The 6th District cannot afford Graves' D.C. lunches and we cannot afford his incumbent politics anymore." Read article

S.O.S.: Sold Out Sam
Graves acting as a voice for Washington D.C. and Big Business

Polo, MO— Recently, five term Congressman Sam Graves reported his recent campaign contributions and once again, Graves shows that he stands for big business and out of state farmers, not the hard working Americans in the 6th District.
Graves took over $300,000 from special interest groups, big businesses, and big agro. Instead of fighting for small business owners, rural farmers, and teachers, Graves prefers to be in the pocket of Washington D.C. insiders. No wonder vote after vote supports the position of corporations and not the average middle class citizen.
